Aspiration Scholarship (New Students) 2026

The Aspiration Scholarship supports graduate education in specific fields that enhance the quality of life in San Diego County. The Jewish Community Foundation San Diego manages this program.

Amount: Up to $30,000 – throughout the student’s academic program

Award Criteria Acceptance at one of the following in-person programs for Fall 2026:

California State University San Marcos

  • MSW, School of Social Work, Pupil Personnel Services Credential
  • MPH: Health Promotion and Health Education

University of California, San Diego

  • Teaching Credential and M. Ed, CalTeach Program

University of San Diego

  • JD, School of Law, Child Advocacy Concentration
  • JD, School of Law, Public Interest Law Concentration
  • MS, Conflict Management & Resolution, Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies
  • MA, Social Innovation, Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies
  • MA, Peace and Justice, Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies

Applicants must be current residents of San Diego County and demonstrate the following:

  • Strong past achievements in academics and personal, professional, or volunteer work.
  • Background of helping others, especially those who are most challenged. This includes evidence of having built trusting relationships.
  • Awareness of their strengths and areas for growth.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong work ethic.
  • Dedication to the field of study.
  • Desire to use their knowledge to enhance the quality of life in San Diego County.
  • Financial need.

*Renewed funding requires submission of a brief application, including an academic progress report.

Award Payment Awards are made before fall semester/quarter payment deadlines and sent directly to the university for tuition and fees.
