Chortek Weisman Family Fund - 2026 Grant

The Chortek Weisman Family Fund seeks to make an impact on Jewish life, identity, and engagement in San Diego County. Believing that the future lies with our youth, the mission is to strengthen Jewish life, identity, and engagement by supporting innovative programs and initiatives that inspire youth to lead meaningful Jewish lives and contribute to the continuity of the Jewish people. The goal of this grant is to cultivate knowledgeable, compassionate, and engaged community members who embody Jewish values, serve as ambassadors for the Jewish community, and are prepared to confront antisemitism with confidence and pride. Priority will be given to programs that address unmet needs, expand access to meaningful Jewish experiences, or test promising new models that may not otherwise be possible due to limited or no funding.

Grant requests for up to $50,000 will be considered. Multi-year grant applications are eligible with clear annual expectations and would be renewed on a year-by-year basis. Applications should clearly articulate program goals, anticipated outcomes, methods for measuring success, and the impact the funding will have on participants and the broader Jewish community.

Eligible 501(c)3 nonprofits located in and serving San Diego County will be required to initially complete a Letter of Intent (LOI). A select group of nonprofits will be invited to complete a full grant application directly from the Jewish Community Foundation San Diego on behalf of the donor.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with responses provided within 30 days of submission.
